Our story

Young people and adults told us that what teachers and tutors teach is very important.

Adults told us that it is important for teachers and tutors to choose what to teach. The teachers and tutors wanted to be able to change their lessons to make them better for young people. They wanted to teach different things – not just the usual subjects. They thought that it was important to teach other things – like skills for life.

We say:

• Teachers and tutors in schools and colleges should be able to choose what to teach – and they should ask young people what they think they need to learn.
