Look after your health

‘Keep your body healthy.’

Many people with learning disabilities experience health problems, so it is important to get your eyes, ears and teeth checked regularly. Ask your doctor or nurse if you need any other checks to keep your body healthy.

Try to eat healthy food that you enjoy. If you need a snack, try fruit or nuts instead of crisps and chocolate. Don’t drink too much alcohol, tea, coffee or sugary drinks. Get outside and do some exercise. A short walk in the fresh air can help you feel good.
