The action research cycle

Action research follows a cycle:

  • you find out what works well and what is not so good about how things work
  • you imagine how things could be better
  • you make plans for changes
  • you change things
  • you watch what happens and listen to what other people say
  • you think about the changes. You discuss what works better now and what is not so good about how things work
  • you imagine how things could be even better
  • you make plans for more changes.

The action research cycle will keep things happening if you keep following the steps.

  1. University of Cambridge
  2. Big Lottery Fund
  3. Foundation for People with Learning Disabilities
